Yeah it is normal, you are not the only one\u2026 The reason is simple! You party too much, hangover and lack of sleep are not the best to feel in shape. You eat cheap food which is often the most fattening food\u2026 even in Asia. Plus you do not exercise on a regular basis. Yes, the huge hike you did last weekend helped but the burger you ate afterwards as a reward did not! <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, you woke up on day and realized you are not as in shape as you use to&#8230; you know what you have to do\u2026. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nooo not a diet<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026\u201d hug no never! I don\u2019t want to starve myself and start being obsessed counting calories in everything I eat\u2026 Don\u2019t go on a diet, just avoid unhealthy meals\u2026 I don\u2019t say you can never eat a burger or a pizza\u2026 just not every day\u2026. Moreover, try to exchange as much as possible the chips or cookies for bananas or apples. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give up the amazing student parties?\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Well\u2026 we all know it is unhealthy to drink and stay up all night! But we all do it\u2026 why? because it is fun! So, no I\u2019m not telling you give up the fun parties and to quit drinking for good. I believe you can be in good shape and party, dance all night long and drink as long as you do it in moderation and occasionally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the purpose of this article is not to advise you to follow a diet or have an alcohol-free exchange semester! You know the best solution to stay fit is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exercising! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything counts\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-256 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.myroomabroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Th-Roosevelt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"327\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Th-Roosevelt.jpg 327w, https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Th-Roosevelt-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, know that everything counts\u2026 so start taking the bike, walk more, take the stairs instead of the escalators, say yes to hikes, etc\u2026 those exercises that don\u2019t feel like exercises are a good way to start being in shape.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free ways to exercises\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-254 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.myroomabroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/nature-is-a-gym-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/nature-is-a-gym-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/nature-is-a-gym.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like I said, that\u2019s a start but you should exercise more regularly, to make it a habit, at least once a week to be honest. Now if you are on budget like me, here are some ways to exercise for free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check your <\/span><b>university facilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Most universities offer free facilities like public basketball fields, football fields or tennis court. Whatever you are into, there are lots of ways to practice your favorite sport!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also some amazing <\/span><b>university gym<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that are free for the students. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, you did not come so far to get stuck in a gym, I get it. But don\u2019t take that as an excuse to not exercise! <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There also exist free <\/span><b>outdoor gym<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. While the equipment there is not electronic, the\u00a0weight-based kit\u00a0is all you need to regain your lost shape. Just google the location of the nearest outdoor gym and go!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make up your <\/span><b>own workout you can do anywhere<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, public park, top of a mountain, your room, \u2026 really anywhere is fine. You don\u2019t need any equipment, just make up your own series of exercises. \u00a0You can find lots of ideas on the internet. For instance, you can follow the \u201cBasic workout you can do anywhere\u201d from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steve Kamb from\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nerd Fitness or just follow any youtuber giving you ideas on how to work out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Go for a run<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This is the cheapest sport you can do. Grab your trainers and run around the local park. Try even to run farther into the countryside. You\u2019re guaranteed to be more motivated when\u00a0the scenery is\u00a0amazing!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sign up for digital classes. Nowadays there exists hundreds <\/span><b>free app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that act like your personal trainer. If you want to have Yoga lesson but can\u2019t afford it<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stop finding excuses\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYeah but I don\u2019t have the time in my busy student schedule\u2026\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lame excuse! Don\u2019t get the wrong idea that it takes long to exercise. You can stick a 10-min workout in between two classes or to start the day\u2026 You\u2019ll find thousands of exercises and get-fit videos on youtube. The possibilities really are endless from 10-minute abs to 30-minute cardio routines, there\u2019s a wealth of different options for workouts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yeah but it\u2019s too hot in this tropical weather country\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Go for a run or an outdoor workout early in the morning or when the sun is almost setting\u2026 the temperature will cool down and like I said, working out while observing a wonderful scenery is amazingly motivating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No more <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYeah but\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just go for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Motivation is the key\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-255 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.myroomabroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/motivation-is-key-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"mouse with helmet trying to get to the cheese stuck in the mouse trap \" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/motivation-is-key-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/myroomabroad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/motivation-is-key.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If like me, you are really motivated in the beginning but then never seems to be able to keep up with the exercise\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best option is to find a workout buddy\u2026 this will help with your motivation and to keep up the good workouts week after week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could also find a boot camp. Yeah nothing gets you going beyond your limit like a coach! I am not talking about the renowned boot camps followed by celebrities and costing a fortune\u2026no there exist some free or cheap camps you can easily find in your area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also join a team at your university\u2026 this is great to try out a new sport, get fit and make new friends\u2026 and it is easier to keep up when your team mates count on you.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To sum it up:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take any occasion to exercise; Like Theodore Roosevelt said:<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDo what you can, with what you have, where you are.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exercise more, there are plenty of ways to exercise for free in amazing sceneries.
